In an unfortunate turn of events plaguing the Bluff City, the Memphis Police Department has been prompted into action following a distressing revelation on social media of a puppy suffering at the hands of abuse. The Memphis Police Department, taking to its official Facebook page, aired its awareness of such a heart-wrenching display and affirmed its commitment to the welfare of the city's four-legged residents by working in conjunction with the Memphis Animal Shelter to probe into the incident.
"Any form of abuse, whether against humans or animals, is taken seriously," the MPD statement reads, emphasizing the gravity with which they view this reprehensible act. The MPD implores the public to report any semblance of crime to further the aim of fostering a "Stronger, Safer Memphis."
The Memphis Police Department encourages the public to report crimes by calling 911 for emergencies or reaching out at 901-545-COPS (901-545-2677) for non-emergencies.
