After a string of violent incidents in the East Valley, 19-year-old Christopher Fantastic was arrested by Mesa Police in Gilbert on charges of aggravated assault on an officer; this comes after, according to ABC15, he had existing warrants for probation violation and had allegedly been evading law enforcement. Reports indicate that the arrest on March 13 involved a confrontation in which Fantastic allegedly spat on two officers and delivered blows to several others after making a gesture that suggested an attempted escape.
Previously, Fantastic had been sentenced to three years of probation on July 1, after pleading guilty to charges of aggravated assault related to two separate incidents of teen violence in Mesa and Gilbert, as detailed by FOX10 Phoenix; in one case, a victim suffered kidney damage and was bleeding from the mouth after hitting his head on the asphalt in a fight that involved 30 to 40 teens and young adults.
During his March 14 court appearance following the recent arrest, Fantastic's bond was set at $8,000. The Maricopa County jail website confirmed these developments, noting multiple charges lodged against him. In this latest encounter with police, court documents describe that after Fantastic's mother notified Maricopa County Probation about her son's intent to surrender, arresting officers experienced resistance from Fantastic who, after initially appearing compliant, took a quick movement in what seemed an evasion attempt.
