The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women is seeking new board members to fill vacancies in several districts. The commission, established in 1971, is one of the first of its kind in Florida and is part of the National Association of Commissions for Women.
According to the Miami-Dade County release, there are openings in Districts 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12. To apply, candidates must be Miami-Dade County residents, pass a background check, and undergo fingerprinting. While it is preferred that applicants live in the district they are applying for, it is not required.
Applicants should have a history of advocating for women and a strong interest in issues that impact women. The commission will give special consideration to those with expertise in areas like research, policy, or communications.
Interested candidates should email their resume to [email protected]. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and, if appropriate, shared with Commissioners from the respective Districts. For more details, visit the Miami-Dade County's official news page.
