Law enforcement agencies in Miami-Dade conducted a drug bust that led to several people being detained at a food market in Northwest Miami-Dade. According to WSVN, the operation took place at the Friendly Market and Food Mart at Northwest 62nd Street and 17th Avenue.

During the operation, at least 10 people were arrested during a SWAT raid at the nearby Friends Meat Market. Miami Police were on the scene serving a warrant related to a narcotics sale, as reported by NBC Miami. The identities of those detained have not been released.

At the Friendly Market and Food Mart, onlookers saw individuals being made to sit on the floor outside the store. Not all those handcuffed were suspects, officials said. Some individuals were later released. Police also removed suspicious electronic slot machines from the location.

Local resident Larry Carlin told WSVN, "That’s in a private room, so I don’t know what goes on. But, you know, I always suspected, you know? Everybody sells weed at one point or another. You know?" Another local resident, while acknowledging the store's importance to the neighborhood, expressed concern about the seriousness of the allegations, saying, "It's just (expletive) up. This store is good to the hood. Serves us food, meat, everything."
