A Miami-Dade man has been arrested after pretending to be a licensed cosmetic surgeon on social media and performing a botched operation. Wilson Munoz Suarez, who was arrested by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Organized Crime Bureau Medical Crimes Squad, faces charges including practicing medicine without a license and battery on an elderly person. The investigation began after a victim had trouble contacting Suarez following the procedure, which led to the discovery of his fraudulent status, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office release.
The investigation concluded yesterday when Suarez resisted arrest. The Florida Department of Health confirmed that Suarez was not licensed to practice medicine in the state. The arrest took place at Suarez’s home in Doral, where he attempted to use his elderly mother as a shield against law enforcement.
Authorities have charged Suarez and are encouraging anyone who may have been victimized by him to come forward. People can contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477). The case number for Suarez is PD250211043751, and the incident occurred on March 26.
The incident took place at 3929 Estepona Ave in Doral, FL. Suarez, a 60-year-old white male, faces multiple serious charges. Detectives acted upon discovering Suarez’s lack of medical credentials and history of deceit.
