A Silver Alert for Keith Murdy, the 64-year-old man from Rutherford County, has been canceled after he was found safe Friday evening. The alert, which had been issued when Murdy was last seen on Friday morning, was lifted when he was located by Rutherford County Fire & Rescue personnel. WKRN reported that Murdy was being evaluated by paramedics following his discovery.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation originally reported that Murdy had a medical condition that could impair his ability to find his way back without help. The search involved multiple agencies, including the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management Agency representatives, as was detailed in an earlier statement retrieved from WSMV.
Murdy, described as 5’9” tall and weighing 270 pounds with brown hair and eyes, was last seen in the area of McClaran Place in Murfreesboro. His quick recovery was a result of the concerted efforts of local authorities and the TBI's broadcast of the Silver Alert. After being found safe, Murdy's condition was attended to by the squad, according to details from the Sheriff's Office, ensuring his well-being.
Concerned citizens who had any information on Murdy's whereabouts were urged to contact authorities. "If you see Keith, call the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office at 615-898-7770 or TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND," the TBI had previously stated in the alert for Murdy, with hair brown and brown eyes, as reflected in the coverage by FOX 17.
