
Yesterday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in Millbrae when a motorcyclist collided with a semi-truck, resulting in fatal injuries. According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the collision occurred at El Camino Real and Park Blvd around 6 a.m. The adult male motorcyclist, upon the deputies' arrival, was seriously injured and subsequently transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, where he later died.
The investigation into the collision is being conducted by the Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), who arrived to take over the probe. The incident remains under active investigation, and the semi-truck driver has stayed on site and is cooperating with the investigative efforts; during the aftermath, swift action by EMS and law enforcement aimed to control the situation and provide aid.
Traffic on northbound El Camino Real faced interruptions following the accident. The thoroughfare was closed from Park Blvd. to Santa Inez Ave. for approximately four hours, but normal traffic flow resumed later. Details regarding the identity of the deceased motorcyclist are pending as the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is responsible for next-of-kin notifications and will release the identity of the victim.
