A serious collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle has occurred at the intersection of Vista Del Sol and Paseo Grande Street in far East El Paso, leaving a motorcyclist with severe injuries and causing the temporary closure of traffic lanes for investigation. According to KFOX-TV, the incident took place just before 5 p.m. yesterday, sending one individual to the hospital with life-threatening conditions. The El Paso Fire Police Department spokesperson confirmed the transport of the injured party following the event.
As obtained by KVIA, the motorcyclist was taken with life-threatening injuries to an area hospital, while a passenger in the car involved was also hospitalized for treatment. Both east and southbound lanes were reported closed, with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office leading the investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has yet to release details on the cause of the collision. With both eastbound and westbound traffic at the crash site expected to be closed for about five hours, investigators were urging drivers to seek alternate routes. In the immediate aftermath of the accident, only the motorcyclist required transportation under serious condition (Code 3), while a spokesperson with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office added that a passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation, KTSM reported.
