
An 18-year-old Nashville resident, already on bond for a previous shooting incident, has been charged with attempted homicide, among other offenses, after a dangerous encounter with Mt. Juliet Police officers. According to WKRN, the suspect, identified as Sujoy P. Guha-Perry, reportedly drove his vehicle toward an officer during an unrelated traffic stop on Sunday. The encounter escalated into two separate vehicle pursuits, with Guha-Perry allegedly "intentionally targeting officers and police vehicles in an apparent effort to cause harm."

The chase came to an end when Metro Nashville Police Department's Aviation Unit assisted by tracking the suspect's vehicle from the air, allowing ground officers to disengage safely. As reported by Davidson County Source, a spike strip deployed on Clarksville Highway near Old Hickory Boulevard ultimately stopped Guha-Perry's vehicle. He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
The charges against Guha-Perry include Criminal Attempted Homicide, two counts of Aggravated Assault on a First Responder, Felony Evading, Reckless Endangerment, and Reckless Driving, as detailed by the Davidson County Source. He is currently being held at the Wilson County Jail.
