Marietta's community of adult women basketball enthusiasts now has a new court to call home, thanks to the Marietta Parks, Recreation, and Facilities. Their Women’s 5v5 Drop-In Play program is welcoming players every Tuesday evening for some friendly hoops at the Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., women aged 21 and over can lace up their sneakers for some five-on-five action, but the opportunity isn't infinite. With a maximum of 30 players allowed each session, it's a race against the clock, and fellow basketball aficionados to grab a spot. The cost? A very reasonable $2 per day.
The program, running from March 4th through April 8th, offers games in a brisk 'first to 15 points' or '15-minute session' format – whichever arrives first. While the games aren't officially refereed, staff will be on standby to keep the peace and the game in motion, as stated on Marietta's official website.
Interested parties should note that despite the casual drop-in nature, the entry fee isn’t negotiable and participants should get there early. Those interested in additional information or who have further questions are directed to the Parks and Rec's website or to reach out directly to the Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.
