Norman residents, prepare for a bit of a detour if you're cruising around the intersection of Murphy Street and Briggs Street next week. According to the City of Norman's official announcement, there's some necessary sewer maintenance work on the calendar that's going to shut down the entire intersection from Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 21.
A contractor will be handling work for the City of Norman Utilities Department. If you're in the area, don’t worry—Murphy Street won’t be fully closed. You can still access it via Homeland Avenue during the project. For questions or concerns, call 405-366-5443.
This roadwork will definitely affect local traffic, especially during peak hours, causing delays and frustration. If you regularly pass through this intersection, it’s a good idea to find some alternate routes.
