Oakland International Airport's Terminal 1 became more inviting for travelers with the opening of two new retail spots this month. In a partnership with Hudson, one of the major players in airport retail, travelers now have access to an array of shopping options between flights. Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Craig Simon recently stated, "Passengers flying through OAK’s Terminal 1 now have two new options for their shopping needs," in a release from the Port of Oakland.

After passing the security checkpoint, jet-setters will find Oakland Duty Free, located conveniently next to Gate 1. Here, international fliers can indulge in a selection of top-selling spirits, fragrances, and confections, all duty-free. Despite opening recently, the store has already adapted its hours to comport with the ebb and flow of OAK's international departures and arrivals.

Jetting over to Gate 5, OAK travelers are welcomed by the charm of Little Main St. @ OAK, sporting a striking mural from Oaklandish on its exterior. Mimicking the feel of the vibrant Temescal neighborhood, the store brings local artisans to the forefront, showcasing products from small businesses in the area, such as Yuzu Soap and Cincha. It's not all local flair, though; shoppers also have various magazines, snacks, electronics, and other travel essentials. In a nod to early birds and night owls alike, Little Main St. maintains welcoming doors from 4:00 AM until 11:30 PM every day.
