Direct flights to Los Cabos from Oakland International Airport just got a major boost, with Volaris' inaugural flight touching down south of the border. As reported by the Port of Oakland, the Mexican airline is now offering daily nonstop service to the coveted beach destination, marking a significant addition for Bay Area travelers.

Volaris, claiming the title of Mexico's largest airline, aims to make travel not just more accessible but more affordable. Bay Area denizens now have the opportunity to quickly and without breaking the bank jet off to the sandy shores of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo every day. Flights will depart OAK at 12:30 PM, arriving at SJD by 3:38 PM. The return flight is set to leave Los Cabos at 5:09 PM, bringing passengers back to Oakland at 8:30 PM.

Craig Simon, the Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, did not hold back his enthusiasm. "Congratulations to Volaris on this exciting route addition at OAK," Simon said, as per the Port of Oakland. "This new service makes travel to Cabo more convenient and affordable than ever for millions of Bay Area travelers." The inception of this route was celebrated with a special gate event for passengers, underpinning the airline's commitment to enhancing its service offerings.

For those looking to get away, Volaris ensures travelers can easily embark on this new service. Boasting an industry-leading operational performance, Volaris is doubling down on connecting folks to their Mexican roots or, as Jorge Roberto García, the airline's Director of Distribution and Market Development, emphasizes, "now, for the first time ever, facilitating affordable air travel to your favorite Mexican beach destination!" García told the Port of Oakland.

The new flights are operated using Volaris' fleet of Airbus Neo aircraft, equipped with a range of onboard products for customers to pick from. Options include premium seating, assigned seats, and a variety of food and beverage choices available for purchase.
