Last Friday night, something more sinister than a simple traffic violation unveiled itself on the streets of Livermore. At around 10 p.m., local police officers pulled over a BMW SUV near Vasco Road and Northfront Road, only to discover a cache of drugs and a loaded weapon stashed inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 48-year-old Francisco Apodaca from Oakland, was found to be a convicted felon by Livermore authorities.

The routine stop soon escalated when officers noted telltale signs of drug dealing within the SUV. To thoroughly investigate, K9 Drake was summoned to the scene. According to a social media post by the Livermore Police Department, Drake made quick work of the search, signaling the presence of narcotics to the officers.

A resulting search brought to light approximately three ounces of cocaine, several prescription pills, a quantity of fentanyl, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Apodaca now faces multiple charges related to drugs and firearms. Booked into Santa Rita Jail, his capture marks a small victory in the ceaseless struggle to curb narcotics flow and associated violence in the region.
