Odyssey Logistics, a prominent logistics and technology solutions firm, has chosen Charlotte as the destination for its global headquarters, a move that is anticipated to bring over 80 jobs to Southwest Charlotte. In a statement released by the company, Odyssey Logistics CEO Hans Stig Moller expressed enthusiasm for the relocation, citing Charlotte's strong talent pool and quality of life: "Charlotte connects Odyssey with a strong talent pool, which continues to grow thanks to the city’s quality of life," according to City of Charlotte.

The company's transition into the renovated 23,000-square-foot space within the Whitehall Corporate Center was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. As of February 10, the headquarters staff, comprising 80 profiles including executive leadership, information technology, human resources, procurement, finance, sales, and marketing, have settled into the new location. This expansion aligns with the city's essence as a burgeoning hub for corporate establishments; per a City of Charlotte news release, Charlotte ranks second in the nation for corporate headquarters, based on a recent Site Selection Magazine survey.

The new headquarters not only represents a significant addition to the local job market but also contributes an average salary of $111,000 for positions based in Charlotte, which is above the average for the metro area. Odyssey's managed services division, established in 2020 and located less than a mile from the new headquarters, combined with the new location, will support a total of 155 employees, encompassing both current and prospective roles. The company’s ownership under The Jordan Group and its wide-reaching presence with over 2,000 employees in 82 locations globally reflects its scale and ambition.

Charlotte's leadership embraces the relocation, with Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles welcoming the logistics company: "We are pleased to welcome our newest headquarters to Charlotte,” she said. “Companies like Odyssey Logistics demonstrate why Charlotte is one of the top cities in the nation for corporate headquarters relocations and why our residents should be optimistic about our city's bright future." Complementing this sentiment, Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners Chair Mark Jerrell highlighted the broader implications of the move: “Odyssey Logistics’ decision to relocate here speaks volumes about the strength of our county as a hub for business, innovation and talent,” he said, according to City of Charlotte.

The arrival of Odyssey Logistics to Charlotte is part of a larger economic trend in the region, reflecting collaborative efforts between the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina. With this addition, the city and county's commitment to attracting corporate investments have contributed to more than $458 million in capital investments and 1,461 new jobs, confirming the strategic economic focus of the local governing bodies.
