The recent Silver Alert, issued for 77-year-old Jesse Bernard Roy, was canceled after authorities confirmed that the elderly man had been located. The alert was initially triggered following Roy's unexplained departure from Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City yesterday, as reported by KOCO.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Roy, who battles with dementia, was last seen on surveillance footage exiting the health facility on West Memorial Road around 6 p.m. He was described as a white male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. His attire at the time included a gray or cream-colored long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and blue house shoes, KFOR noted in their coverage.
The issued alert had heightened concerns, considering Roy's condition and the potential perils an individual with cognitive impairment could face if lost or disoriented. The urgency was communicated by authorities, who asked the public to dial 911 with any information about his whereabouts, as recommended by News9.
