
A tragic multi-vehicle collision in southeast Shelby County has resulted in the death of one individual, with an additional three adults and a child sustaining critical injuries. The accident occurred on Friday, just before the 5 p.m. rush hour, at the intersection of Shelby Drive and South Germantown Road, according to a report from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office obtained by Action News 5. The area has since been closed to through traffic as officials investigate the scene of the six-car pileup.
Responding to the devastating scene, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office confirmed the fatality and the critically injured parties and dispatched them to local hospitals. Reported by WREG, one adult was pronounced dead at the location, while the injured adults were admitted to Regional One Hospital. Three adults found themselves in critical condition, while a critically injured child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, offering specialized care.
