A deadly shooting occurred yesterday outside the Westin Hotel near Memphis' FedExForum, resulting in one fatality and one person hospitalized with serious injuries, which were later reported to be non-critical. According to Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department arrived around 2:40 p.m. to the scene where two individuals had been injured and the suspects, described as being in a white vehicle, had fled, the incident is currently under investigation.

The area around the hotel, located at Second Street and Lt. George W. Lee Avenue, was seen with a heavy presence of police and fire department vehicles, as reported by FOX13 Memphis. Witnesses described seeing a victim in the street, and it has been confirmed by TMZ that the surviving victim was Houston rapper Albert Walker Mondane, known professionally as Sauce Walka. MPD later clarified that the shooting was a targeted event and not a random act of violence. They also assured the public that the downtown area was considered safe.

Regarding the investigation into the shooting, Local Memphis reported speculation online suggesting that the victims were rappers or musicians.
