
A shooting in Maple Heights on Monday afternoon resulted in one individual being wounded and subsequent arrests, as local authorities continue their investigation into the incident. Maple Heights officers were dispatched to Maple Park Drive around 4:38 p.m. after a caller reported a male brandishing a firearm and gunfire in the vicinity, FOX8 News detailed.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found no victims but evidence that a shooting had indeed transpired. Authorities stated that the suspect had fled in a white vehicle. Close to the same time frame, officials in nearby Garfield Heights received reports of several males, one of whom appeared injured, on York Boulevard. Garfield Heights Police responded quickly to assess the situation and found a male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, who was then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, cleveland.com reported.
The investigation also revealed several vehicles around Maple Park Drive struck by gunfire, though no additional injuries have been reported. Further developments occurred when a male driving a white vehicle, consistent with the earlier description provided, returned to Maple Park Drive. Police detained this individual, and it was stated that he was in possession of a firearm at the time, according to information related to the investigation.
While Maple Heights Police were investigating the initial scene, the attention later shifted to Garfield Heights, where the aforementioned group of males were discovered. The additional individuals present during the time of the victim's discovery were taken into police custody for questioning, as was mentioned by Cleveland19 News.
