Heads up, Peachtree City trail-goers: some upcoming construction might have you rerouting your daily jaunt. The city has announced closures for a couple of popular bridges along local pathways, so it's prime time to familiarize yourself with some detours.
The multi-use path bridge over Flat Creek is shut down beginning Friday, due to essential repair work. This isn't a months-long overhaul, though – the city expects things to be ship-shape in about a week. Still, that's seven days of shake-ups for regular users. Those eager to keep to their routines can check out the suggested alternate routes on the Detour Map provided by the Peachtree City's official announcement. Just a reminder from the powers that be: the golf course paths are a no-go unless you're there to tee off.
And the bridge bust doesn't stop at Flat Creek. Line Creek Nature Area's walking trail bridges are also off-limits for the time being for repairs. The city is on foot duty to ensure these bridges remain safe and accessible for all trail lovers. During this time, alternative trails are your best bet, as emphasized in the Peachtree City statement.
For those of you who like to stay informed, updates on the progress can be found on the city's social media channels or in their weekly newsletter, The Slice. If any questions or concerns arise, Peachtree City's Recreation and Special Events Department is waiting for your call at (770) 631-2525. So keep that patience handy and lace up for the alternate routes – the paths will be all the better for it post-maintenance.
