Peoria is taking a proactive step towards community enhancement by offering a unique, educational experience for its homeowners. On April 5, residents can join the semi-annual HOA Academy, spearheaded by the City of Peoria to ensure that members of homeowners associations are well-equipped with the latest insights and knowledge to effectively run their communities. The four-hour long program, held from 8 a.m. to noon, is exclusively designed to cater to the educational needs of HOA board members, managers, and homeowners alike.

As part of the collaborative effort, experts from VF Law & Krupnik & Speas, LLC will be on hand to provide essential information on a variety of critical subjects. Attendees can expect to quickly learn about legislative changes impacting HOAs, understand the comprehensive responsibilities coded in the Board of Directors conduct, and get to grips with federal law enforcement as it pertains to CC&Rs. Additionally, trending topics in community management will be addressed, nurturing the leadership qualities necessary to effectively govern homeowners associations.

For those interested in attending, the training comes with a nominal $15 fee per participant. The registration period remains open until March 28, but remember, space is indeed limited, as detailed in a recent announcement by the City of Peoria. A complimentary breakfast is included, potentially sweetening the deal for early risers. The session will convene at the "Point of View" Conference Room within the Development and Community Services Building at 9875 N. 85th Ave., with access available from both Olive and Peoria Avenues.

The City of Peoria has made it extremely easy to participate; registration can be effortlessly performed online. For added information or to express concerns, Sandy Macias, the Neighborhood Programs Coordinator, is readily available at 623-773-7356 to assist any potential registrants.
