A shooting in Downtown Memphis last Saturday killed rapper Latorian Hunt, known as Sayso P, and injured rapper Albert Walker Mondane, known as Sauce Walka. The incident happened outside the Westin Memphis Beale Street near FedExForum just before 2:45 p.m., as reported by Commercial Appeal. "This appears to be an isolated incident, not random violence," and are working to find the suspects. Investigators identified a suspect vehicle as a white four-door sedan and are using downtown camera footage in the investigation. No arrests have been made. Police stated, "We understand the public's concern and reiterate that this was not a random act."
Rappers Hunt and Mondane were reportedly connected through their music careers and were signed to the same record label. Hunt, 27, was an emerging artist in the industry. According to Action News 5, Sauce Walka’s father, Albert Walker, confirmed that his son is recovering after being shot in the left thigh.
