In a procedural shuffle within Pinal County, Reginald Winston has been named the new Justice of the Peace for the Casa Grande Justice Court, Precinct 2, following an appointment by the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, as reported by a Pinal County official release. Taking over the reins from John Ellsworth who resigned recently, Winston will serve the bench until 2026.
Winston, who swaps his Judge Pro Tempore robes, which he donned since 2022, for this new position, is no stranger to the public service beat—in his tenure with Casa Grande Police Department stretching from 1996 until 2022 integrated with a rise to Deputy chief of Police and threaded by his military commitments including stints in the United States Marine Corps and the Arizona Army National Guard, he has cultivated a multifaceted perspective on law, order, and justice. Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Natasha Kennedy, administered the oath as Winston took his office immediately following the Board's decision.
The appointment also witnessed the virtual participation of Supervisor Goodman, while Supervisors Vitiello, McClure, Miller, and Serdy were present to endorse Winston's swearing-in—a scene captured in a photograph accompanying the official release.
