In a Facebook post, the Rural Metro Fire Department detailed their response to the incident: "Today at approximately 3pm, Rural Metro Fire responded to a reported structure fire." Upon their arrival, they discovered a hot tub and its covered roof "completely engulfed by flames."
Occupants at the residence reported hearing what sounded like an explosion before witnessing the hot tub bursting into flames. Fast action on the part of the fire crews allowed to successfully extinguish the fire. Their swift response was crucial in preventing the spread of the fire to the nearby home, which was only 20 feet away, as reported by the Rural Metro Fire Department.
