The San José Police Department has made an arrest in a case involving unlawful sexual activities with a minor, as reported by a recent press release from their official website. Bernie Barrozo, a 28-year-old martial arts instructor and former behavioral therapist for children with autism, was identified as the suspect. According to the SJPD's release, the allegations came to light after an incident was reported on January 17.

Responding officers were dispatched to an undisclosed location in San José, where they were to start investigating the claims against Barrozo quickly. The San José Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) led the investigation. On March 6, ICAC detectives successfully obtained an arrest warrant and apprehended Barrozo, who was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

The case against Barrozo hinges on incidents of unlawful intercourse and oral copulation with an unnamed minor. With Barrozo's work history involving proximity to children, the detectives are deeply concerned there may be additional victims. In their outreach for more information, as per the San José Police Department, "Due to the continuous access to children that the suspect has had as a martial arts instructor and behavioral therapist," detectives urge anyone with relevant information to step forward and contact Detective Zanotto or Detective Santos of the ICAC.
