Three juvenile suspects are now in custody following a rash of criminal activities, according to an announcement from the San José Police Department (SJPD). The spree, which took place on January 9, involved a strong-armed robbery, a traffic collision, four vehicle thefts, reckless driving, and a commercial burglary across the city of San José.
Investigations led by the SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives traced a stolen vehicle used in the robbery to the juveniles, who were swiftly identified and linked to the series of crimes. As noted by the San José Police Department, the primary suspect was apprehended last Tuesday by their Covert Response Unit (CRU) Officers and subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
Following closely, last Wednesday, CRU officers arrested the third suspect, uncovering a loaded, un-serialized, privately-made firearm with an extended magazine during a search of the suspect's residence. The second suspect had been detained since February 8, facing charges for an unrelated crime. As the three young men confront the consequences of their actions, SJPD's quest to restore order continues, seeking assistance to capture the fourth perpetrator still at large.
Witnesses on the spree date described the fourth suspect as donning all-black clothing, accented by a red or maroon shirt peeking from beneath a hooded sweatshirt.
