
San José Police Department's investigation into a fatal shooting last Saturday has led to the arrest of a suspect, identified by the police only as an adult male. Officers responded to an emergency call at a residence on the 700 block of Locust Street at around 7:06 PM, where they discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts by the San Jose Fire Department to save the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the city's fifth homicide this year, as per the San José Police Department.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect and victim were acquainted. In a swift reaction, the SJPD Homicide Unit took the lead, and by the next day, at around 3:24 AM, the department's Covert Response Unit had located and apprehended the suspect at a residence in south San José. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on a murder charge, with his identity set to be disclosed after further procedural formalities.
The San José Police Department is actively seeking information from the public regarding this case.
