After the ceremonial opening, the new facility will officially start operating on April 21, highlighting Sandy Springs' commitment to enhancing public safety through significant upgrades in infrastructure. The journey to this point began in 2020, when the city acquired a 7.42-acre property with an existing office building and its surrounding parking. The original structure spanned roughly 106,678 square feet before the transformation. Through the design expertise of Jericho and construction helmed by Reeves + Young, the facility now extends over 130,000 square feet, with the project's total cost surpassing $56 million.
