The Santa Clara Police Department has apprehended a man for alleged sexual crimes involving a juvenile. Gilberto David Nietoromo, a 41-year-old from Livermore, was taken into custody following an investigation sparked by a reported encounter between him and a minor, as per the Santa Clara Police Department.

According to the department, the incident occurred last Monday around 4:48 p.m. at 1111 Bellomy Street in Santa Clara. Nietoromo is accused of meeting the underage victim twice at a school parking lot after establishing contact on a social media site. It was there, in a vehicle, that the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim. After obtaining a warrant, officers arrested Nietoromo near Industrial Way and S. Vasco Road in Livermore last Thursday, without incident.

The Santa Clara Police have revealed that Nietoromo faces multiple charges, including seven felonies such as sexual assault and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, in addition to four misdemeanors related to sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor, among others. Nietoromo currently awaits trial at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
