This morning, Santa Rosa Police apprehended an 18-year-old resident with a loaded stolen firearm during a vehicle stop at a local parking garage. At around 12:23 a.m., an officer contacted the occupants of a suspiciously parked vehicle on the second level of a parking structure in the 700 block of Santa Rosa Plaza. The subsequent investigation led to the discovery of two loaded guns inside a satchel located in the vehicle's backseat.
The Santa Rosa Police Department stated, "One firearm was a Glock 19 9mm and the other was a Glock 21 45 caliber." The Glock 21 was stolen from Ukiah, and the department reported this incident on its official social media page. Emmanuel Dominguez, the individual who claimed possession of the satchel, now faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm not registered to him, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges against Dominguez include violation of the California Penal Code sections 25850(c)(6), 25400(c)(4), 29800(a)(1), 487(d)(2), and 496(a), which cover possession of a firearm by a non-registered owner, concealing a firearm in a vehicle, a felon in possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, and possession of stolen property, respectively. The severity of these charges signifies the potential risk factors involved in such unlawful possession. A booking into the local jail followed the charges.
