The City of Scottsdale has been named the eighth happiest place in the United States. This ranking comes courtesy of WalletHub, a personal finance website that has sliced and diced the data from 182 of the largest cities. The categories spread further than a buffet table, including emotional and physical well-being, and employment.
A Phoenix New Times article details that Scottsdale scored impressively across the board, ranking 10th in income and 22nd in the emotional well-being department. The city took a high leap in sports engagement, finding itself fourth in sports participation, according to an AZ Family report. However, Scottsdale's work hours landed on the other end of the spectrum, placing them daringly in the last spot.
When it came to other enumerations in the Grand Canyon State, Gilbert and Chandler held their heads up high in the top 50. Gilbert clinched the 26th spot and earned kudos for having the nation's fifth-lowest separation and divorce rate. Meanwhile, Chandler took 40th place. Peoria, Tempe, and Mesa managed to crack into the top 100, while Phoenix, Glendale, and Tucson became last. They landed at 106th, 120th, and 161st, respectively.
