A disturbing incident occurred over the weekend in Scottsdale, as police arrested 40-year-old Christopher Baker for a crime that stunned the local community. According to the Scottsdale Police Department, Baker was detained after allegedly assaulting a woman in broad daylight near 100 Street and Charter Oak.
Last Saturday around 11 a.m., the victim was walking when she experienced an unexpected and unwelcome encounter. Baker reportedly ran up behind the woman and pressed his naked body against her back. When the woman turned to confront the man, he hastily retreated to his vehicle. As reported by the Scottsdale Police Department, the ordeal didn't end there. The suspect, now identified as Baker, approached the victim a second time—still devoid of clothing—in his car as she attempted to distance herself from the unsettling situation.
The victim's quick thinking led to her taking a photo of Baker's vehicle, capturing the license plate, which she then shared with the 911 operator. Scottsdale Police's Real Time Crime Center was alerted, and they swiftly identified the vehicle's most recent location. Using this information, officers located Baker's vehicle near 10400 E Via Linda, culminating in his arrest.
Baker now faces multiple charges laid out by law enforcement including Sexual Abuse – Improper Touch, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Indecent Exposure, Public Sexual Indecency, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. He has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail as the judicial process commences.
