The Coconino County Sheriff's Office has heightened efforts to locate a family of three who have been missing since March 13. The individuals, 23-year-old Kiyeon Lee, 69-year-old Taehee Kim, and 64-year-old Junhee Kim, commenced their journey from the Grand Canyon area, intending to arrive in Las Vegas, as shared by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Despite the heavy snowstorms that have recently ritualized across northern Arizona, the family set out in a rented white 2024 BMW, California license plate 9KHN768. It was last placed by vehicle GPS signals on Interstate 40, going westbound around 3:27 p.m. on the day they vanished, according to information that officials with the CCSO provided. Additionally, ABC 15 reported that numerous multi-car accidents occurred on I-40 on March 13, but it remains unconfirmed if the family's car was involved in any of these incidents.
Authorities urge anyone possessing information regarding the whereabouts of Lee, Taehee Kim, or Junhee Kim to come forward. The puzzling disappearance of the family persists in prompting a wave of concern both from law enforcement and within the community, sparking an extensive search operation.
