A 63-year-old Seattle man has been arrested following a disturbing discovery in the Queen Anne neighborhood earlier this month, where more than a dozen binders of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) were found in a dumpster. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, two individuals experiencing homelessness came across this alarming find and quickly contacted authorities.
The Seattle police, to arrive promptly at the scene, climbed into the dumpster located on the 200 block of Queen Anne Avenue North and found additional evidence including the suspect's name on loose papers mixed with the CSAM. Investigators say some of the material appears to have been printed from a computer, with dates spanning from 1998 to 2013.
Seattle police executed a search warrant at the suspect's apartment last Friday, leading to his arrest. In an interview with the Seattle police, the man admitted to discarding the CSAM content and revealed a history of previous child molestation, dating back to when he was a teenager. "He told Seattle police that prior to 1983, he’d molested approximately 50 children in another state," as reported in the SPD Blotter.
Throughout the course of the ongoing investigation, officers reportedly found additional CSAM on the man's home computer and in boxes within his living quarters. Law enforcement took him into custody for possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and he was booked into King County Jail. The case is being actively investigated by members of the ICAC Task Force.
