A security guard was shot in the leg during an attempted car theft in Atlanta. According to the Atlanta Police Department release, the incident took place at 3041 Landrum Drive SW around 7:44 PM. The 27-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was found with a gunshot wound. He was conscious and spoke with officers before being transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The initial investigation suggests that the security guard tried to stop the car theft, leading to a confrontation and the shooting. The suspect or suspects fled the scene and have not been apprehended. Detectives from the Aggravated Assault Unit are investigating the incident.
