Seventeen individuals have been indicted in DeKalb County on various charges related to gangs, drugs, and weapons. The defendants, aged 18 to 25, face multiple counts, including violations of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act and firearms offenses, as per the Office of the DeKalb County District Attorney release.

The arrests were part of a coordinated operation by law enforcement agencies and were announced by the DeKalb County Grand Jury on Tuesday. The individuals are accused of gang activity, drug offenses, and possessing illegal firearms, including fully automatic long guns and handgun conversion devices. Two of the accused, Nashan Hutton and Daniel Solomon, face additional charges related to firearms possession.

Evidence from an April 5, 2024, operation revealed 20 firearms, extended magazines, illegal switches, and a psychedelic mushroom cultivation operation at a residence in Lithonia. The defendants are set to be arraigned in court, with trial dates to follow.

In a separate case, three individuals – Fratavic Goodwin, Jerry Johnson, and Joshua Thomas – were indicted earlier this year for the murder of Nicholas Grierson on April 4, 2024, along with charges of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault. The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office's Homicide and Gangs Unit is overseeing both cases.
