A Sevier County man has been apprehended after a drone search, following an incident where a shotgun was discharged near a neighbor's home. The confrontation between Bruce Hopkins and his neighbor allegedly began over a truck engine being revved which led to Hopkins firing the weapon near a residence where children were present, the sheriff's office said, WVLT reported.
According to a statement obtained by WATE, the event occurred around 2:30 a.m., once deputies arrived at the scene on the 1500 block of Lin Creek Road, Hopkins eluded them by fleeing into a nearby woodland area, The sheriff's office then deployed a drone operated by Corporal Brandon Watkins, and within a short time, Hopkins was located and taken into custody.
SCSO charged Hopkins with five counts of reckless endangerment along with one count of evading arrest, setting his bond at $25,000, this information was corroborated by WVLT.
