Butler County Jail inmate Dominick Grubb, age 18, has been indicted for what appears to be a chilling and calculated murder-for-hire scheme aimed at a woman whose identity remains protected, as reported by WLWT. The alleged plot unfolded within the confines of the county jail, where Mr. Grubb is said to have offered $100 as a down payment, and a promise of $2,500, to an individual who turned out to be an informant to carry out the murder, details emerged from prosecutors which included potential tactics such as targeting the woman at her child’s bus stop without concern for the child's safety.
Local 12 reported Grubb's arrest and the subsequent charges, which starkly highlight the charged indifference Grubb seemingly possessed toward the potential collateral damage of a child. He was quoted as saying he "didn't care if the child of the intended victim was also killed," according to the court records provided in a statement obtained by Local12 News. Moreover, it is alleged that he provided extensive details about the intended victim, including addresses and social media accounts.
Additional information disclosed by FOX19 shows the depths to which Grubb reportedly sunk, involving his mother in the scheme by having her deposit the upfront payment into the informant's commissary account—illustrating a premeditated and family-embroiled effort to facilitate the intended crime, the report states. "I am asking you to kill a [expletive] for me," Grubb was quoted, underscoring an alleged direct and explicit intent to have the woman murdered.
The bond set for Grubb reached a staggering $5 million during his court appearance, reflecting the gravity of the charges laid against him, this, in conjunction with the reported evidence, could signal a steep legal battle ahead for the young inmate whose life now hangs in the precarious balance of justice and whose tale stands as a grim example of the lengths some may go to even behind bars to see harm done to others as cited by court documents.
