The first major closure will involve Route H (Riverview Dr.) at I-270 for the demolition of the old I-270 bridges, which will commence Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. and is expected to last through until Monday, March 10 at 5 a.m, bridges that have stood as sentinels of the past now giving way to a new infrastructure. Drivers are advised to follow detours via Dunn Rd., Lilac, and eastbound I-270 to rejoin Route H for those heading southbound, while northbound travelers will use eastbound I-270, Illinois Route 3, westbound I-270, Lilac, and Dunn Rd. In tandem with these disruptions, there will also be single-lane closures on eastbound I-270 to support detour traffic merging from northbound Route H.
In addition to the Route H closure, MoDOT's schedule indicates lane closures on westbound Interstate 70 at Belleau Creek in St. Charles County for pavement repairs; this will take place on Friday, March 7—weather permitting—with up to three lanes being closed from 8 p.m. to an estimated reopening time of 9 a.m the following day. In Jefferson County, an intersection with I-55 and closures along northbound and southbound Route 67 will also influence commute patterns.
