A fatal shooting in the Kingsway West neighborhood has concluded with one man dead. Officers responding to the incident found a 34-year-old man who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred on the 5100 block of Palm and the time of the call to officers was approximately 11:14 AM. Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation, as reported on Friday by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the official police statement, authorities are reaching out to the community to help gather more information and to possibly identify and locate the person or persons responsible. In an effort to quickly bring those responsible to justice, the Homicide Division is directly taking tips at 314-444-5371. In addition, there is an avenue for tipsters to remain anonymous and still potentially receive a reward—by contacting CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation, and further details have yet to unfold as detectives piece together the events of that day.
