The St. Louis County Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious death after a woman's body was discovered yesterday in a wooded area near South Old Highway 141. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Nicole Jung from St. Louis, MO, who was reported missing since February 28. According to a statement obtained by SLMPD, her vehicle, a black 2014 Chevy Cruze, was also found disabled at the scene, but it appears the crash did not occur recently.
Before being located deceased, Jung was last in touch with her spouse around 6:04 p.m. on the day of her disappearance, informing she was on her way to pick him up from work. Tragically, surrounding the desolate whispers of trees, the grim discovery in Fenton casts a shadow over what was previously a missing person case. The investigation by the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons raises as many questions as it seeks to answer, amid the unfolding mystery surrounding the circumstances of Jung's death.
Jung was described as having dark hair with purple streaks, standing 5'5 to 5'6, and weighing around 220 pounds. On the day she went missing, she was last seen wearing dark leggings, a black t-shirt with a black hooded sweatshirt and possibly rainbow leopard print Adidas Hi-top tennis shoes. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) Missing Persons Unit had been actively seeking the public's help in locating Jung prior to the grim find.
While police continue their investigation into the matter, they welcome any information that could shed light on the tragic events leading up to the discovery. For those who may know something about Nicole Jung's disappearance or death, they are urged to come forward and contact the Missing Persons Unit at 314-444-5738.
