
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested James Bryant, 44, following a shooting in Metter, GA. Bryant, a Sylvania resident, faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation press release, Bryant was arrested without incident by the Port Wentworth Police Department and is now in Candler County Jail.
The incident occurred late on Thursday last week, when the Candler County Sheriff's Office responded to a home invasion at the 100 block of Creekside Way in Metter. Authorities found two people with gunshot wounds, and they were taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The Sheriff's Office received help from other local investigators, but the case remains active, with authorities asking for additional information.
