A protracted struggle against flames took place at a Tampa storage unit facility, where a fire engulfed the property for over nine hours before firefighters could extinguish it. According to ABC Action News, the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) teams arrived at CubeSmart Storage Center on North 56th Street around 9:30 p.m. Yesterday, confronted with a three-alarm fire and plumes of smoke billowing from numerous storage units.
HCFR stated that the difficulty in pinpointing the source of the blaze within the facility resulted in a prolonged effort to control the inferno. Reportedly, “they reported heavy smoke coming from several storage units, crews worked to gain access to several storage units and locate the fire,” an ordeal that tested the mettle of the responding firefighters, as reported by WFLA News.
The incident was not without casualty; one individual sustained burn injuries significant enough to necessitate hospitalization. Nonetheless, their condition has been stabilized. This information was provided by FOX 13 News, which remarked on the swift response by medical personnel in wake of the event.
As investigation into the cause of the fire persists, CubeSmart Storage Center, along with its patrons, begins the process of assessment and recovery. The impacts of the fire on property stored by customers remain to be wholly understood.
