The Tampa Police Department is rolling out a new grant program this year aimed at enhancing community initiatives. The 2025 TPD Community and Resources Enhancing Success (C.A.R.E.S.) grant scheme promises to inject $45,000 into various local projects that align with the department's vision of teamwork and community safety.
Local organizations striving to positively impact Tampa residents, especially through youth and adult programs that focus on crime prevention and community connection are encouraged to apply, "These funds represent a valuable investment in our community," Chief Lee Bercaw said in a statement celebrating the efforts of last year's grant recipients in their endeavors to uplift youths and families, according to City of Tampa. The increased funding this year allows for grants to be disbursed in various tiers, giving a range of community partners the chance to benefit from financial awards in increments of $15,000, $10,000; $5,000; $2,000; or $1,000 depending on their needs and proposed initiatives.
