A 14-year-old male was shot and critically injured on Saturday near the intersection of Shreve and Anderson in the Penrose neighborhood, according to authorities. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said that District 6 officers responded to a shooting report around 3:00 PM, where they found the victim outside a corner store. He was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Early information from the scene indicates that a dark colored vehicle drove by the store and someone inside the vehicle began to quickly fire multiple shots, hitting the teenager. The vehicle then made a quick escape and has yet to be located. Detectives from the North Patrol Division are actively working to gather more details and apprehend the individuals involved.
As the investigation continues, the police department is urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.
