
A teenage boy fell victim to a daylight robbery in the Tower Grove East neighborhood last week, according to reports from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police. The incident unfolded last Friday, around 3 p.m., in an alley near the intersection of Juniata & South Compton. Police have since been actively investigating the event.
The 16-year-old male was walking alone when he was confronted by two juvenile suspects, one of whom he recognized. As per the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the young man recounted that one of the individuals drew a handgun, aimed it at him, and demanded his belongings. In the harrowing moments that followed, the assailants relieved the teen of his phone and Nike jacket before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal. However, the loss of personal property and the psychological trauma of such an event can have lasting impacts on the youth's sense of security and wellbeing. The suspects, described only as juvenile males, remain at large.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
