The Picklr, a Utah-based chain, is expanding in the Phoenix area with a new location in North Scottsdale and Cave Creek. The 20,909-square-foot facility, located at 34402 N. Scottsdale Road in the Terravita Marketplace, will feature eight indoor pickleball courts and is expected to open in the second half of 2025. This marks The Picklr’s fifth location in the Valley and sixth in Arizona, as reported by ABC15. The Terravita Marketplace, owned by Whitestone REIT, selected The Picklr to boost foot traffic and support nearby businesses, particularly in the food sector.

The Picklr, a pickleball chain with over 500 locations nationwide, is expanding with former NFL quarterback Drew Brees as an investor, franchisee, and brand ambassador. According to Business Journal, Matt Okmin, Whitestone’s senior vice president for Arizona, said, "We really try to curate the tenant lineup. We think of our purpose is to serve the community surrounding the shopping center and so we really put a lot of thought into who are they and what do they want." The company aims to integrate into communities by offering a social and active sports experience.

The Picklr is expanding with a new location in Cave Creek, led by multi-unit franchise developer Missy Allred. "Our commitment to excellence ensures that our Cave Creek location will be as exceptional as our Scottsdale location," Allred stated, as per Business Journal. The facility will offer memberships, tournaments, classes, and leagues. As some big-box retailers close stores, more real estate opportunities are opening up for businesses like The Picklr. The company continues to grow its presence, providing dedicated spaces for pickleball players.
