
A tragic vehicle collision in North Memphis yesterday resulted in the deaths of three people and left another critically injured. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Highway 51/Thomas Street, causing a complete shutdown of the road between Wells and Firestone for an investigation, according to WREG.
Memphis Police responded to the scene at Thomas Street and Marble Avenue, where two vehicles had collided. Action News 5 reported that the victims included two men and a woman, who were pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman was transported to Regional One Hospital and remains in critical condition.
Witnesses observed the crash, which appeared to be a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a four-door sedan, as per a FOX13 Memphis report.
After several hours of investigation and cleanup, Memphis Police announced that all lanes on Highway 51 near Thomas Street had been reopened.
