
Three officers from the Winter Garden Police Department were hospitalized following a house fire that occurred on East Story Road last night. According to ClickOrlando, the blaze engulfed a two-story residence, leading police to make an entry attempt in search of individuals potentially still trapped inside. As the situation unfolded, responders succeeded in evacuating a person from the burning home, however this endeavor resulted in the hospitalization of three officers due to injuries sustained during the rescue.
While details about how the conflagration started remain undisclosed, FOX 35 Orlando affirms the officers experienced smoke inhalation but are projected to recover fully. The incident took place just before 6 p.m. at 1055 East Story Road, where firefighters and police were rapidly deployed to address the emergency, ensuring no firefighters were harmed during the incident. Four people, including the three officers, were hospitalized.
While investigating the origins of the fire is ongoing, authorities have not yet released additional information regarding this aspect or the current medical status of the officers or the individual rescued.
