The investigation into the deaths of twin brothers Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis on Bell Mountain has led to the arrest of Scott Kerlin, a Towns County volunteer firefighter. Kerlin, 42, of Hiawassee, has been charged with misdemeanor obstruction for taking and sharing photos of the crime scene, according to a release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The deaths of the 19-year-old twins from Lawrenceville were reported on Sunday last week. They were found at the top of Bell Mountain with gunshot wounds, leading to suspicions of a murder-suicide, though official results are still pending. Authorities were first alerted to the scene on March 8 at about 11:05 a.m., prompting the GBI's involvement at the request of the Towns County Sheriff’s Office. While autopsies have been completed, the final ruling and results are still pending further forensic analysis.

A GBI medical examiner has completed the autopsies, but the full autopsy report and official ruling are on hold until additional forensic tests are done. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the deaths.
